Some Important Points About Prayer Walking
Text: 1 Timothy 2:1-8
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness..."
A. What is Prayer Walking?
* It is intentionally for others.
* It is intercession focused on other people and the area based on what we see.
* It can be a battle with the devil and principalities over the area as this may be enemy territory.
* Prayer while walking
* Pray for what we see
* Pray for things God give us insight into.
B. The Purpose of Prayer Walking
* See God's blessing, mercy and transforming power.
* Prayer for the area, community we are walking in.
* Prayer for ourselves as servants of the neighborhood we are working in.
C. Guidelines for Prayer Walking
* Join with other believers.
* Focus on God
* Pray aloud in a quiet, conversational voice.
* Be observant to what you see as you walk and pray.
* Be open to anything God impresses you about as you walk.
* Walk for about 1/2 hour.
* Reflect on your observations.
